Lataji. 1929–2022

My earliest memories of Lata Mangeshkar, an Indian playback singer, are from listening to her songs on Sunday mornings. I remember waking up every weekend to her melodious voice which was thanks to a ritual my father had.

He would sit at the dining table, be doing his paperwork, and played her songs on his cassette player, later promoting the sound quality to CD’s and after that, I even remember him having full playlists…
